I never got to hear you guys live. 20 years ago a friend gave me a cassette.....it got worn out. I was thrilled to find your website and get the old albums on CD.

Just got the new dual disk in today, and the performances match anything I have heard before. You haven't lost a step.
The sound is the best. If you get only one Starlite Rambleer CD, get the new show.
I'll be watching for your next show. DO IT!

Just got a wild hair to Google the Ramblers. So glad I did. Thank goodness I hadn't yet paid a small fortune to have my old LP's recorded to CD's. I just ordered all of the CD's but my LP's are treasured. The ink is fading on the autographs on It's Enough to Make a Cowboy Outta You (kind of like we are, I guess). I pretty much define my youth by you guys (sad, but true). Closest I ever came to being a groupie. Almost cried way back when, when I heard Panama Red's had burned down. Dancing to the Ramblers was my idea of heaven and I am so thankful for the memories. The music sends me back faster than the DeLorean in Back to the Future and all I can do is smile and feel young enough to swing to every song--or at least want to!

The only way to end all this gushing is to say thanks. I don't think I've ever been so happy buy CD's. Thank you.

Hey good to see you guys are still around. Remember me? I was once called Johnny Wonder. I remember back in Greeley when it was The Starlite Ramblers, The Prisioners and Johnny Wonder. Been lots of years since then and we've all gotten a little older. I think one or two of you guys attened my wedding in Greeley . Ordered the cd versions of your lp's. I had worn out the lp's that I bought from you guys back in the "old days" in Greeley . Still listening to you guys after all these years. Good luck to you all!!!

It was great to find the "Ramblers" website. Panama Reds,Apples and a couple of places in Denver to party with them live are fond memories. Have the albums, made the tapes and now CD's...life is good. Long live the Starlite Ramblers "to be sure to be sure"

From 1979-1983 the one place you could find more veterinary students than at the CSU Teaching hospital was any place that the Ramblers were playing!!! Your music was the sound track of that stage of our lives.
I'm glad I (finally) found your web site. My old vinyl records are worn flat!
I'm looking forward to getting your Cd's and the coming of the 30 year get together recording.
Glad to know you are all still our there.

I grew up in Aspen listening to local favorites like Buck Dean, John Denver, Starwood and the Dirt band to name a few. I used to watch Steve Martin jam on his banjo every time he came to town and I just loved the music. I spent countless hours in the Red Onion with my family and friends. One night I happened to see this band I had never heard of before and it was The Starlite Ramblers. A few years later while attending UNC in Greeley I was re-united with the band and never missed a gig in the 5 years I was there. Upon graduation I made the mistake of moving to California and never knew what became of the band. Now back in Colorado I was delighted to see your web site. I have now ordered all the CD's and look forward to countless hours reminicing %3Csp%3E.

Hey Ramblers, thanks alot. I got your cds the other day and was hoarse from singing by the time I got to work over the weekend. They sure brought back some good memories of my days in Northern Colorado , living in Ault, going to school in Greality and working in Ft Collins. Panama Reds was always a favorite place to see you guys perform but anywhere you played was always a good time. I sure miss those days. Thanks for the memories. Jake

I fell in love with my husband while dancing to the "Starlite Ramblers"...
We never missed a performance if you were close. Just listening to your music brings all those memories back and the feelings are all still there.

Thanks...hope to see you all soon...

I was intoduced to the Ramblers around 1980 by a friend who was going to college in Fort Collins . At the time we were counselors at a canoe tripping camp in Ontario , Canada (and I was into heavy metal like the Scorpions and Van Halen). But I immediately loved the Ramblers' music, and for the next few summers for us and our buddies, the Ramblers provided our theme songs and partying music (and I've been a die-hard fan of real country music for years). The live version of "Buckskin Lady" was our favorite. Over the decades we played our cassettes, always hoping that someday we'd be able to acquire Ramblers CD's. We learned from a friend just two weeks ago about the Website. Now I'm playing my CD's all the time at home and in the car, and my children, who are 9 and 11, are loving them. It so great that the Ramblers are back on the scene (although why Michael is no longer involved is both extremely regrettable and mysterious). I'll never be able to see the Starlite Ramblers live, I guess, but there's one 43-year-old guy in Maine who is so happy that the music is available again. Now by golly I think I'm ready--when Levi saddles up and sings "Buckskin Lady," it brings back all kinds of wonderful memories.

Greetings, I first saw the Ramblers at the old Country Opry in Denver in the late 70's. I had just learned western swing and they were by far my favorite band to dance to. At the begining of the 2nd set Michael would offer up a tray of shots for whoever wanted to partake and introduced me to a fellow named Yukon Jack :-) This band drove me to drink and I never got the chance to thank them. Jump ahead 20-odd years: I have since honed my dancing skills, competing nationally for a while, and still hang out in contry bars. I will always have fond memories of the band. Their music still echoes around in my mind. I have always woundered what became of them; now I know. I am glad to hear that the legend lives on.

I remember playing the Widow McCoy with the Plumb Loco Band while the Ramblers were playing a couple of blocks away at the Bank Lounge. On at least one occation, during breaks, we switched...the Ramblers playing a set at the Widow while we played at set at the Bank. Swapped some shots with ya, before riding of in to the "inebriated moomlite", going our own way after the clubs closed down. A few nights later, Louie our lead singer, and all around strange guy, had a great plan cooked up for the members of the Starlite Ramblers. He came to the club with four huge bags of marshmallows., one for each member of the Plumb Loco Band. So Louie, Dan Bob, Clyde and I shortened a set to insure the Ramblers would still be on stage when we got to the Bank lounge. We ran in and "attacked", pelting the guys with a barrage of marshmallows, and as quick as we could ran off for the security of the Widow McCoy, telling our roadie "Moose" (rest his soul...we still miss him) that if the Ramblers came running in the door to frisk them for marshmallows before he let them in. They didn't show up...at least not THAT night! The following night, the Ramblers came running in to the club while WE were still on stage, with revenge in their eyes and marshmallows in there hands and pelted US for our efforts the night before. Problem was, the marshmallows they had were OURS from the night before. They had gathered them up and saved them. After 24 hours of lying around their stage, the marshmallows were anything BUT mellow! In fact, they had become has hard as rocks. They got us good too! Stung like mad hornets when they hit us! They were so hard in fact; I remember them making my cymbals ring when they hit them! Ouch. We owe you one...and someday you'll all pay! We tried to make the reunion show (we have done a couple of reunions since we split up, so I know it's a lot of work, but after you're in to it, it's just like riding a bike...a very old, somewhat rusty bike, but the ride is nice!). I'll see if I can get the boys together and come see you soon.

Danny, Clyde , and I went on playing after Louie left to find gainful employment (wussie!). Clyde suffered a stroke back in 2001, and has since fully recovered, but left the business (I'll work on him from time to time). Danny and I are still holding down the House Job at Bruce's Bar (Dan's been there with me for 10 years, and I've ran Bruce's band for 13 years now...that's gotta be a record for a house job, eh? I ought to get an award or something!) Tim (Levi) did a stint there in my absence for a while, and has set in for me a couple of time when we needed a replacement player! But I digress. We always enjoyed your music and friendship over the years, and we're collective happy to see you old shitkickers pumpin' out the tunes together again! I was going to get the PLB back together to come see you at the first reunuion, but when I went to pick up Louie at the "nursing home" the nurses said he couldn't leave the home for a week, 'cause he'd left the cribbage board out again! Oh well, maybe next time if he's good (and according to several of the younger nurses...he still IS!) A special shout from me to Buzz! Glad you're back and I'll look you up someday. We'll swap some licks...and compare old age aches and pains!

(A little side note just for the boys in the band. Stick to your damn guns fellas! I understand the politics of band life, and regardless of who is there and "who" isn't, keep it up! ALL of you are outstanding musicians, and any or all of you playing together again just does my heart good! We're not getting old, were getting better. OK, so we ARE getting older, but with age comes wisdom, taste, and precision. Life's too short, and the music is what's important! I'm always amazed that Louie and I didn't kill each other during at least the first few years of the PLB. So I for one understand. JUST KEEP PICKIN'! We'll show those Johnny-come-lately pukes out there that it isn't about who wears the biggest hat, or has the best phoney southern accent, but it's about feeling the music and making the crowd feel what you feel inside! THAT'S what you should do, that's what you CAN do, so get with it! I'm looking forward to hearing you guys again, and thrilled at the prospect of hearing Levi and Shannon pickin' together!)

So from all of the fellas from the Plumb Loco Band, to all of the fellas in the Starlite Ramblers, heres to you and a long happy stint doing what you do best....drinkin'...no wait a minute...I mean pickin'(and drinkin'). Next time you're liftin' one, lift it for us, and we'll do the same! Feel free to write me anytime at "JTsteelblu@AOL.com"!
"Plumb John"

Wow! I used to sneak into the Sundance at 16 just to see the Starlite Ramblers. To see them again with my Mom and Brother on Friday was INCREDIBLE! I had soooo much fun. Thank you all so much for bringing back some of the best country music ever made. Please make sure to update the site to include the next place you will play, I will be there if you do : )

Ashley ( ash894@msn.com )

Thanks Guys! I grew up listening to your music. I have many a fond memory of sitting out on the loading dock at Apples in Longmont listening to you play as I was still underage and couldnt come inside. I've been looking everywhere for your albums (only have three in vinyl)so I was overjoyed to see you releasing them on CD. I look forward to hearing you play at the Rose on the 17th. Keep up the great work we need more bands with hearts and voices like yours!

Heather Burke ( quiltblkmom@aol.com )

Thank you guys so much for releasing all your albums on cd!! Your songs have always been a big slice of home for me. From my travelin' days half way around the world while in the Navy, to just around the corner here in Idaho . Believe it or not, I've been listening, to this day, to an old cassette tape I stole from my brother over 20 years ago. (Can't belive it still works!) I always turned up the radio when your songs came on. I just wish I could make it back for the Grizzley Rose show!

Thanks again, guys!

Dave ( davehowerton@yahoo.com )

Unbelievable...That's the only word that came to mind when I found out The Starlite Ramblers would ride again. I once thought The Ramblers would exist only as legends from my childhood...After all, I was born the same year their first album was, 1977.

To this day, there is no other band that stirs the emotions and represents the honesty and true country character of life out West better than The Ramblers. Who needs Nashville ? The legacy of The Starlite Ramblers will live on in generations to come, I'll see to it!

Thank you Ramblers for making the effort to come together once again. The cds are fantastic, and the music is as pure as it was 20-something years ago -ringing from my dad's pickup truck through the hills of Wyoming .

We'll see you at the next show...beers are on me.

I was driving north on I-25 and saw the sign at the Grizzly Rose announcing your reunion show. Wow, did the memories come flooding back. I attended UNC in Greeley in the early 80's and never missed a show of yours. My fondest memory is of the shows at the Island Grove Exhibition hall. Pretty girls, dollar beers and the best band in the world. Can hardly wait for the June 17th show. Thanks for coming back. RAMBLERS RULE!

DAMN GOOD SHOW

What a show it was!! The hardest part about tonite was not being able to dance!! Kinda like a race horse ridin' pens. I want to thank Shannon, Levi, Steve, Jerry and Michael for taking extra time to meet and greet with our daughter Kelsie. Sorry Buzzer, you were tearing down your drums. She has a new favorite band!!!!! Must run in the family.......she knows good music AND PEOPLE when she sees em'. We are looking forward to the Grizzly Rose party, and we will bring as many people with us as we can. If The Ramblers keep playin', we'll keep dancin'!! I hope The Ramblers know how much their fans adore them and are damn glad you're back together playing music. As an added bonus tonite, we had the pleasure of running into George Kent and Gina St.John. Terrific people to say the least!! Back in the Cow Palace days, when The Ramblers played, it was standing room only. How many of you out there still have a Cow Palace jacket??!! We have ours!!!
Thanks guys......you are truly dear to our Hearts. I also want to thank the Rambler families for being behind the guys. If it wasn't for you, they couldn't do it! Hats off to you! Thanks, thanks alot we got a dream come true.
Marty, Diane and Kelsie Gerlach.

Levi.............I'll see you soon!

Never Thought I'd See The Day

I grew up in Timnath a LONG time ago...but not long enough to see you guys at the bar. You see, I wasn't old enough and didn't have enough bucks to bribe someone to get me in. And I couldn't get a fake ID, because I have red hair %26 brown eyes...Believe me, I tried. I couldn't wait to turn 21, not just for the beers....but to see you guys. I was a 'wanna-be' groupie. I died when I heard you guys broke up...all I had was one more year...just one more. But it didnt happen. Run into a friend a few years back...he was gonna tape your album for me...(I love to yodel around the house)...He forgot. I finally found an album...my husband thinks I'm crazier than *%26$)(%3E, I play it for everyone that comes to my house for a beer. Let's make this long story short....I thought I had died (again) and gone to heaven when I heard about the band playing again...never heard about the Sundance, and can't make it to the Rialto...so when's the next one? Will you guys play in my garage? I'll buy the beer. You guys have made my century, Thanks! Anke in Aurora

Sundance

I just happened to be at the Sundance Saloon last Friday and Saturday night and saw the best Starlite Rambler crowd I have ever seen. This was one of the best times I have had in my life. Thank you so much.
